~ 大垣書店: Established in Kyoto sinec 1942, the branch in Aeon Mall Kyoto (near Kyoto Station) is great for browsing.
~ 恵文社: An independent bookstore with an excellent selection of lifestyle goods.
~ ふたば書房: Based in neighbouring Shiga,  this chain has a small but well-stocked shop in the Kintetsu Shopping Street in Kyoto Station.
